I am the host and creator of Limelight Highlight Podcast. I was born and raised
in Philadelphia. I joined the Marine Corps at 19 and served 5 years as an avionic
technician for the biggest helicopter the military has. When I got out, I did a little
bit of the same work I did while I was serving. I discovered podcasts a few years
ago and immediately fell in love with the stories and discussions I’ve heard over
the years. Two friends of mine, along with myself decided to start our own podcast. It was short-lived but a fun and valuable lesson in what to do and how to create a show. We live in a world full of very negative news. It's filled with horrible tragedies and sad stories and after constantly hearing these stories I asked myself "what about the people working to make the world a better place?" I then decided I needed to focus more on the positive. That is why I created Limelight Highlight. I want to highlight positive people, organizations, movements, and news and bring those things into the limelight so that people can see that there is some positive amongst the terrible everyday news. Not much has changed for the negative news but since starting this podcast I have met some amazing people doing amazing work to serve their communities, help others, and make a positive impact on the world, I was even featured on 6ABC action news on a segment called "Philly Proud" for the work the podcast has been doing. That’s what Limelight Highlight is all about. So please check it out and listen to the positive stories to get out of the slump that the news constantly casts over everyday people. My hope is that these stories we are sharing inspire our listeners to be a part of the solution to combat the negative stories that run rampant in our media today.
